Robert Plant & Alison Kraus - “Polly Come Home”

Another Robert Plant tune, but the man is a vocal genius. This is off his collaboration album with Alison Krauss (Raising Sand). The album itself is great, but this was the first tune off it that really struck me.

Robert Plant - “Satan Your Kingdom Must Come Down”

Never seen an episode of Boss, but apparently this is also its theme song. Robert Plant once again shines in this one, released off his Band of Joy album.

A Season Tainted By The Dreaded Asterisk

I’m sure fans of the NHL are all delighted to here that our season may be saved yet. It’s been another unnecessarily  long offseason thanks to greedy owners, players and league officials. What should have been settled during last season wasn’t settled until the season came to be. Three work stoppages, and Gary Bettman still has a job as the Commissioner of the NHL. What the hell is wrong with that scenario?

Psy - “All Night Long”

I’m not going to lie, I dig this track. This was pre-Gangnam Style, but I’m sure it’s become a lot popular given the rising 15 minutes of fame for Psy in the US. It’s off the PSYfive album.

The Cult - “She Sells Sanctuary” (Butch Vig Mix)

If you know me, I’ve likely said to you at one point or another that there was this mix out there for this song but it’s impossible to find. I had it at one point in time on my old HP PC from back in the WinXP days. I finally got an enclosure for my old HP HDD and found it.

Low and behold, I’m disappointed. I made it out to be this god-like mix, yet there is very little that’s different from the standard version of it.

Still, Mission Accomplished!

Led Zeppelin - “Black Dog” (Live - Celebration Day)

Need a reason to buy Celebration Day? This is just one of many. I’d post Kashmir or No Quarter instead but Tumblr restricts me at 10MB file size. No matter what, each of the sixteen tracks sounds fantastic. Zeppelin goes out with a bang. Last concert for them… most likely.

“Lemon Scent” - Dead Sara

I first saw this band when they opened for The Offspring at the House of Blues in Boston. They blew me away from their sound and emotion. Emily Armstrong is a powerful vocalist who shows women how its done in the music industry today.

I can’t wait to see this band again.

Curtis Stinger & The Forest Rangers - “This Life”

The full theme song from Sons of Anarchy in all its glory.

THE OFFSPRING WERE PRETTY FLY (FOR WHITE GUYS) LAST NIGHT

Think about this.  Growing up, there was probably one band that really “spoke” to you.  This was your first real band that you got into.  They were one of your first CDs (or in this day, MP3s). Imagine that same band you grew up with came touring in your area.  New album, same band.  That was what happened to me last night with The Offspring.

iPhone 5: Things Will Change, But What?

Cellphones have come a long way in the 2000s.  Going into the new millenium, just having a cellphone made you feel like royalty.  Now-a-days, it’s almost a necessity.  Some people can’t live without their phone.  Others will treat it as if it were a child.  If it were to break its screen or even die, a person might be left crying.  We live in a technology-first way of life.  We rely on cellphones, computers, robots, and vending machines to feed our daily lives.  Without them, we’d be lost.
